If you would like to evaluate the course next Thurs. (or after your grades are entered officially), please post your comments here. You can discuss the course and the instructor here.
All grades are reported officially now, so be sure to post your course evaluations. I enjoyed this class and hope you learned a lot this summer! Take care!!!!
I enjoyed the class and it freed my time in the summer I prefer on-line classes I am a single mom and have to work I work at a school so I have summers but more on-line classes would help my recieve my degree soomer
I enjoyed the class very much. I was very nervous about the projects at first but I feel like they turned out very well. Thanks you Dr. Hendrix for all of your help.
I really enjoyed the blended format. The online option was the only way that this course worked in my schedule with my other classes and my job. I would suggest meeting in person the first class period to allow students who are not familiar with the format of papers and projects to get an understanding of what is expected. I had taken classes with you in the past and was familiar with the format, however I know some were overwhelmed by this who had not.
I thought the blended format was ok. I'm a hands on learner and prefer actual class meetings to discuss issues such as those raised in this class. I understand the importance to recognize diversity in our society. I sometimes think we are going out of our way to be politically correct in today's world and forget that simple common courtesy and respect can go a long way when establishing relationships. I know that summer courses are often condensed due to time restraints, but the workload of this 2 credit hour course for the summer seemed almost a little excessive. I see no problem with the workload if the class were spread out over a regular semester or even an eight week period for the summer. I feel fortunate to have been paired with some great partners for the progects that were required in the class. Overall I would like to say that this was a good experience but as stated earlier the workload for two credit hours during a four week summer session seemed a little excessive.
Students may choose to take the course in the regular semester or summer. If summer were easier, everyone would take it in the summer, and how would cutting work be fair to those who choose to take it in the regular semester? Also, we still have to meet all of the national standards and objectives regardless of when the course is taught or taken. Summer school is four weeks, and the regular semester is four months. It should be intensive not easier and not with less work. Thanks for the feedback here!
By the way, I also spoke with Dr. Edwards before Summer I, and she said that we could not change the course to make it easier for summer students. Would you do that as a teacher????
