    Question: Why do we not have more diversity among our teachers?

    Fact: The large majority of teachers continue to be white although we have growing numbers of students with diverse backgrounds.-p. 240

    What is available to me for students with disabilities, when the funding is low and the school is not able to get the equipment needed for that student? ie. Para, reading machine ect .

  18. Question: Is there an outside source that a break down how each cultural learns for teacher to refer to?
    Quote: “The curriculum embraces the reality of multiculturalism in American society by providing a balance between learning the common core of dominant culture knowledge and knowledge of minority cultures. Curriculum accommodates children who have limited English proficiency. All cultures and primary languages of children are respectfully reflected in the curriculum.”
    Important Fact: Best practices tell us that for teachers to establish a bias-free environment, children need to have their parents and other community members regularly involved in the classroom, not just on special occasions.

  19. Should we as teachers do assigned seating to promote diversity in our class rooms? I have noticed in class rooms that children tend to sit with students of their same race or cultural preferance. Should we intervine for the sake of diversity?
